Introducing the Wave of the Future in Diabetes

Working together with Dexcom, Medical Minds created educational programs to support the introduction and adoption of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM).

Diabetes affects nearly 24 million people in the US and the incidence is steadily increasing. Multiple studies have shown significant improvement in health through tight control of blood glucose in people with diabetes; however only 37% of patients being treated for diabetes achieve their target glucose and hemoglobin A1c levels. Multiple studies have also demonstrated that CGM empowers patients to control blood glucose levels and improve their well-being.

Objectives

• Educate healthcare professionals and patients on the benefits of CGM
• Support Dexcom’s leadership position in CGM

• Certified Diabetes Educators (CDEs)
• People with diabetes

Tactical Execution
Comprehensive slide libraries for physicians and CDEs—living documents that serve as the foundation for many educational initiatives—were developed.

Patient training was simplified to “Seven Steps”. A Quick Start Guide on one sheet of paper and other simple training materials were developed.

Results
The Medical Minds team is very proud of our contribution to increasing awareness and educating healthcare professionals and people with diabetes about the significant advances that have been made in CGM and with Dexcom SEVEN.
